Located in East London, you will find Brentwood driving test centre amongst the busy town roads. Incorporated into the test routes will be roundabouts. This will range from small mini-roundabouts found in the residential roads to multilane roundabouts leading onto dual carriageways. A very good understanding roundabouts are required in order to pass a driving test at Brentwood.

During the driving test, the examiner may take you out of Brentwood onto the rural country lanes. These roads can be hazardous due to the high speeds, narrow lanes and the unpredictable bends. High-speed ‘A’ roads such as the A1023 and the A128 may form part of the driving test.

Driving Test Brentwood – Pass Rate

Brentwood (London) Driving test centre has a pass rate which is slightly higher than the UK average; its pass rate is 47%. In a 6 month period, the test centre had almost 1700 driving tests. Abridge 

Abridge is 10 miles north of Barking and is 20 miles from Central London. This is a small village which was there before the Second World War and has spread and grown quite rapidly since. St Mary’s and All Saints’ church, which is the parish church, is in a beautiful country setting. It dates back to 1100. The chapel of ease in the village was built in 1833.

Blackmore

Blackmore is a very old town with a lot of history – this is mainly because of its priory of Augustinian canons and the link it had with Henry VIII. Up until the 20th century Blackmore’s population remained at 600 and was known as a rural community. There has been a lot of modern development and has included the building of three estates and now all expansion has stopped. 

Bulphan

Bulphan sits on top of Thurrock and borders Basildon, Brentwood and Havering. When the railway arrived in East Horndon and Bulhpan started becoming a holiday place for Londoners, they brought plots and put up huts. During the Second World War, the majority of these families built more substantial homes and moved into the village permanently.

Buttsbury 

Buttsbury is a village in the Chelmsford district of Essex, England. The village itself dates back to the Saxon Times. The land was owned by a Saxon family named Bond or Bodis, the Saxon Settlement was known as Joyberd at Buttsbury.

Chigwell Row 

Chigwell Row is very very high and is above sea level which is 280 feet. You could see the fine views of Thames Valley before the area became so built up. It lies on the border of nearby Hainault Forest – a survival of the once extensive Royal Forest of Essex where the kings hunted as far back as Norman Times.

Childerditch & Little Warley 

Childerditch & Little Warley is a village situated south of Brentwood. Little Warley was known as Warley Parva and its name was changed to distinguish it from the neighbouring village of Warley. Childerditch was possibly named after the stream which runs through the village.The little church of All Saints and St Faith at Childerditch was rebuilt in 1869, the original church having been destroyed by fire. This older church is described as ‘having a steeple of brick at the bottom and timber above that, with a spire shingled’. The 14th century font escaped the fire and there is also an ancient lectern of uncertain age.

Cranham 

During the 1800s, Cranham’s children were taught at the parish’s expense in the schoolmistress’ cottage. A wooden building was then built for them and it was also used as a Sunday school and for evening classes. Between the 11th and 18th centuries the population of this village stayed at around 200. By 1931 it had passed 1,200, and in the next 20 years rose to just under 5,000. By 1961 that figure had increased three-fold! Now it becomes important that the Green Belt is not breached further, and that what remains of village life can survive.

Doddinghurst 

Doddinghurst lies about four miles between Brentwood and Ongar.In 1876, Doddinghurst had a population of 426 which only consisted of a few cottages and some outlying farms. There  no pub but a Georgian three storey mansion for the priest and a large gabled brick house known as Doddinghurst Hall with farm buildings surrounding it. 

Fiddlers Hamlet 

This town lies 10 miles northwest of Brentwood which is in the parish of Theydon Garnon, which was once a hamlet of Epping. Till this day, the hamlet is still surrounded by farmland, but once this old scene had to be carved up for motorways. The countryside is still beautiful and is still admired; however, the sound of animals and birds are no longer all that can be heard.

Fryerning 

Fryerning is one of the loveliest villages in Essex and is situated on a hill which is three quarters of a mile from Ingatestone. Although it stands as high as the village does, the main road is almost level with the top of the Ingatestone church tower. Strange though this may be, there are still three large ponds left. There were a few more but these have been filled in. The largest one left, always known as the Pond, was full of carp and roaches until it dried up in the warm summers of 1989-90.

However, please remember that our semi-intensive driving course is designed for learners who have recently failed a practical driving test, international drivers, and those who are almost up to test standard. They are not suitable for the new beginner.
