Bharat Coaches offers a free bus ride from the train station to the city centre and on to Slough. The express train stops at Slough station on the outskirts of the city, just outside the village of Ryer’s Island. 

Slough station is served by First Great Western, which runs an express service to London Paddington station, which is just 17 minutes away. Buses and Greenline buses are available from London, and Heathrow Airport can be served by First Berkshire Thames Valley Buses 75, 76, 77 and 78. 

The train is also used, with fast trains connecting Slough to Paddington in London in 14 minutes, as well as the London Underground. Slough, it also uses buses from the city centre and further to the city centre, the village of Ryer’s Island and the nearby town of Grosvenor.

DHL UK’s headquarters is located near the M25, accessible by car from the A3113 and also accessible by vehicles from DHL UK headquarters. Just past Tower Park on Glasscock Road, turn left and after about a mile you will reach Westgate Landing County Park. 

If you continue through Slough, you will meet the Sacramento River before crossing it, but stick to the road and you will not cross it. You come to a junction with the A3113 And then the M25, south of Westgate Landing County Park, and further along the south side of the river.

If you feel like it, turn left and drive a few kilometres to the Railway Museum Rio Vista Junction, run by volunteers, and then turn left to get to a stop. Finally, take Holt Road, but in no time you will miss the town of Holt, with a post office, mobile homes and a salon on your left. I could tell you the story of the hours I spent in those salons, so I backed off. After driving backwards on Highway 12 I had to drive back another mile, then I took a left turn, which brought me to another stop, I am back on the A3113. 

The famous Mars Bar Factory was first built in Slough in 1932 and is still based there today. Citroen kept its UK headquarters in the city and assembled cars at Mars Confectionery, which later became a factory to produce the famous Mars bars and other products such as the Peugeot 208. 

Slough Arm links Slough to the Grand Union Canal, which runs along the Thames between Brentford and Birmingham. Sloughs Station was established in the early 20th century to provide passengers with connections to Windsor and Eton Central.

If you can’t drive to Slough and are looking for a replacement, the nearest alternative testing centre is in Berkshire. It is the only one of its kind for learners in Slough and the wider Berkshire area and can be reached by train, bus, car, train or bus from any of the other test centres in the area.

It is located at the junction of the M4, M40 and M25 motorways, north of Slough and south-west of London and northeast of Reading. The area merged with Datchet (also in Berkshire) to remain in Buckinghamshire. It was on the border between Berkshire and Middlesex, in what is now Essex and parts of Kent and Essex.

Slough expanded slightly into Buckinghamshire and Surrey, taking over Colnbrook and Poyle and then Middlesex. In 1884 it merged with the civil parish association and became a single authority with its own police and fire brigade as well as a police station. From 1885 to 1887, Slough was slightly expanded to Buckingham County, from where it took over the joint parish councils they had received. Since then, in 1891, it has spread slightly to Buckingham County and Surrey.
