Portsmouth – Town Driving

The drive from Portsmouth practical test centre will involve city and town driving. Portsmouth has many narrow residential roads which are often taken during the driving test. These roads will give the driving examiner and opportunity to assess your skill at safely meeting vehicles. As soon as you see an oncoming vehicle, driving examiner will expect you rear-view mirror and ease of the accelerator.

The two-bay park exercises can only be requested at the driving test centre car park. Whichever manoeuvre you get, it is vital to make continuous all-round observations.

A part of the driving test will be spent on the independent driving section. Many learner drivers needlessly worry about this section of the driving. During this portion of the driving test, you will either be asked to follow road signs to a set destination or directions from a satnav. You were to miss your turning or even end up going completely in the wrong direction, this would not result in a fail. This is provided that you continue to drive safely.

There are four steps to the waiting room.  The disabled toilet is not accessible from the main waiting room without access to examiners area.  However, special arrangements will be made for candidates a disability.
