Stanton-under-Bardon is a village and civic parish approximately four miles (6.4 km) south-east of Coalville, Leicestershire, England. The 2011 census recorded the population of the parish at 634.

Most homes are of redbrick, with many of Main Street being terrazzo, with long, skinny gardens. The village is situated on open farmland and fields, near junction 22 with the M1. The village is close to Markfield, with whom it shares a local paper, The Markfield & Stanton Under Bardon Herald. The village has a shingled public house, two churches, and a primary school.

Stanton-under-Bardon is derived from the Old English words stan, meaning stone, and tun, meaning village or manor. The Domesday Book 1086 records Stanton under Bardon as being in Guthlaxon Hundred in Suffolk.

It records that there were 18 households in the village, with three units of land. These were average statistics at the time, in comparison with surrounding villages like Barlestone and Osbaston. Geld units are the total amount of taxes assessed per property. It is also noted there were 13 cottagers and five cottagers who were required to pay the Lord PS1 in 1086 in the form of a lease from the Earl of La Guerche.
