Spinney Hill is a neighborhood in the Inner City area of Leicester, England. It is situated to the north of the central area of Highfields, around Spinney Hill Park. To the north is Northfields, to the east is North Evington, to the west is the railway line, and to the south is the core Highfields area. It is also a ward in the city of Leicester, with a population of 25,561 in the 2011 census.

The park, which covers 34 acres (14 ha), was laid out in 1885 in an upslope location, in order that eastern parts of the expanding city would have access to some open parkland. The town council had opened Abbey Park on the north side of Leicester in 1882; converted Victoria Park from a horse racing track in 1883; and opened Western Park in 1887, so that within five years, expanding suburban areas on all sides of the city had been provided with parks and recreation facilities. The sites were purchased by the Town from Mr. C.S.

Burnaby in March 1886 for 18,000 pounds.

John Burns was responsible for the setting of paths, the planting of trees, and initial infrastructure, with the official dedication being performed on 24 August that year by Mrs. Hart, wife of Mayor Israel Hart. A Heritage Lottery fund grant allowed significant improvements to be made to the park, a new Infinity Garden was laid, a new reading mound was created, paths were upgraded, improvements were made to a stream running through the park, and improvements were made to the seating and furnishings.
