Keresley is a suburban village and civic parish within Coventry city limits, in the West Midlands, United Kingdom, approximately 4.5 miles (7 km) north of Coventry city centre, and 3.5 miles (6 km) south-west of Bedworth. The ward had a population of 791 according to the 2001 Census, falling to 713 in the 2011 census, though its 2018 population was estimated to be 783. Keresley and Keresley End are two distinct areas; Keresley is within Coventry, whereas slightly more rural Keresley End, also known as Keresley Village or Keresley Newlands, is within Warwickshire, except for Thompsons Road within the borough, which lies within the boundaries of Coventry.

The village has two grocers shops, two bus stops, a beauty salon, a primary school, a doctors surgery, a fish and chip shop, a small church, a post office, library, park, garden centre and community centre. For much of its history, Keresley was the concatenation of two additional villages: Keresley Green was the more northern, and the first to be established, but it was Keresley Heath, on the southern side, that was developed most, with the construction of schools and the Church of St Thomas.

However, the construction of the Coventry Colliery by Warwickshire Coal Company, next to Keresley Green, in 1911, brought development attention back to this area. It was only in 1974 that the two parts of Keresley lost their separate identities to be merged. The coal mine was closed down later in 1991.

Keresley Parish is mostly rural, with some fine old woods. A wildlife study by Coventry City Council, including Keresley parish, classified most of the area “A” grade: “an area with a high level of natural historic importance, with a range of different habitats and an extensive variety of plants and animals”. The area has many footpaths making it accessible for public use, and is perhaps one of the only areas in Coventry you will be able to hear skylarks. Despite this, Coventry City Council has suggested that the area could be developed into an “eco” suburb, with 3,000 homes, and as of January 2010, there is currently a segregated development with new properties.
