Ash Green is four miles (6.4 km) north of Coventry, 2.5 miles (4.0 km) south-south-east of Bedworth. It is bordered by the M6 motorway to the north, A444 (Phoenix Way) to the east, Winged House Lane/Central Avenue to the south, and Keresley End (also known as Keresley Newlands) to the west. The area forms the western portion of the Ecclesiastical Parish of Exhall St Giles (which stretches from Black Bank, Bedworth, to north of Holbrooks, Coventry). The area makes up the western part of the ecclesiastical parish of Exhall St Giles (which extends from Black Bank in Bedworth to the north of Holbrooks in Coventry). Although Ash Green was a village for centuries, centered around a junction formed by Royal Oak Lane, Vicarage Lane, Ash Green Lane, and New Road, over the 20th century, it expanded to the west and south, swallowing up nearby Newland hamlets (now surviving only under the names Newland Lane and Newland Hall Farm) and Neals Green, attested to by “Ash Green” signs placed at the New Road junction with the Newland Hall Farm) and Wheelwrights Lane.

Although Neal-Green does still appear on some maps, it is now a name used by locals only rarely. The River Beech and River Sow are the main waterways of the region. Today, Ash Green forms part of Coventry/Bedworth urban area, the conurbation that encompasses Coventry and Bedworth, and is, in many respects, a suburban part of Coventry (as evidenced by its inclusion within the Coventry postal district). In fact, Coventrys urban boundaries are directly to the south of Ash Green, along the former colliery railway line (adjacent to the Wearninghouse Lane and Central Avenue), and the Ash Green settlement is essentially contiguous with Coventrys Holbrooke area.

Historically, Ash Green was a parish in the parish of Exhall. Its history is thus strongly connected to the rest of the parish. Of special note at Ash Green is the parish church, parts of which date from the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries (namely, the nave, chancel, and tower).

Newland Hall Farm, built between the 15th and 18th centuries. Exhall House, dating to the 18th century, formerly known as Exhall Grange, is an 18th-century primarily structure, with a few elements which may be of the 16th century.

However, please remember that our semi-intensive driving course is designed for learners who have recently failed a practical driving test, international drivers, and those who are almost up to test standard. They are not suitable for the new beginner.
