Do You Need Winter tyres?

A large number of motorists believe the winter tyres up only for driving in the snow. But they are mistaken as there is much more to them than that. Winter tyres are specially designed to work at temperatures below 7°C. They are not as effective at temperatures above that. For this reason, winter tyres are not recommended in the summer or for all year round. Furthermore, winter tyres will wear away faster in the summer than normal tyres.

When can I buy winter tyres?

Winter tyres are available all year round. However, as you will see a surge in demand in the autumn and the winter, it is better to buy them in the spring or the summer. There is a better chance of picking a bargain in the summer as a suppliers try to get rid of unwanted stock.
