Wilsden is a village and civic parish in the western part of Bradford, in the county of West Yorkshire, in the United Kingdom. Wilsden is six miles (9.7 km) west of Bradford, close to the Aire Valley, and to nearby villages Denholme, Cullingworth, Harden, Cottingley, and Allerton. Wilsden was granted civic parish status again in 2004.

The 2001 census showed a population of 3,697, rising to 4,807 in the 2011 census.

During the Roman period, the area was part of the Ancient British (Celtic) Kingdom of Elmet. A link with the regions early British tribes might be implied by the villages name; Wealhas-den is an Old English name, and was initially recorded as Wealhas-den, which has been interpreted as the “place of the Welsh”. As all speakers of Brittonic languages were known in Old English as “Welsh”, the name may have implied Wilsden was the location where Britons had retired after Anglo-Saxon settlers arrived in the Aire valley. The village is mentioned in Domesday Book as belonging to Gamalbarn, and was part of the manor known as Allerton-cum-Wilsden.

A 1818 map shows the hillocks of Willsden, Willsden, and Lingboe being three distinct separate hamlets. Industrialisation led to mills being built in the village, the first, Albion Mill, being built in 1810, and a further seven being built later that same century. Albion Mill was demolished following a major fire in 1990.

St Matthews church was built at Willsden in 1826, identical to St Pauls Church at Shipley. The church was demolished in 1962, and in the following decade, the modern church of St Matthew was built at another site in the village.

In 1886, the Queensbury-Keighley line opened, running to the west of the village. The station was in fact located 2 miles (3.2 km) away, in the village hamlet of Harecroft, which closed to passengers in May 1955, and to goods in November 1963.

The 616 and 619 bus services connected the hamlet to Harden, Bingley, and Eldwick in the north, and to Allerton and Bradford in the south. The main road running north-south through the village is not graded, but links on its south end to the B6144 to Cullingworth and Bradford, while on its northern end it passes through Harden to link up to the B6429 to Bingley. Wilsden has many businesses, such as Wilsden Autos, the Suite Centre, the Co-op, and the Post Office.
