Rednal is a suburban area in the southwest corner of the Metropolitan Borough of Birmingham, West Midlands, in the United Kingdom, nine miles (14 km) south-west of the centre of Birmingham, which forms part of Longbridge Parish and an Electoral Division. Rednal is home to around 2,000 residents.

The suburb is situated within a triangle formed by the Rubery and Bristol Road South in the north and north-west, the former MG Rover motor plant to the south-east, and Lickey Hills and Cofton Hackett Park just to the south. The popular, rural Lickey Hills Country Park is 1/ 2 miles (800 metres) south of Rednal, Rednal Hill being the nearest summit. The earliest evidence for humans to have settled the area dates from the Stone Age, with a Neolithic hunter losing the head of a Flint Arrow at Rednal Hill.

The arrowhead was leaf-shaped and made from flint, and was definitely more than 4000 years old. Also, the flint point from the 3000-year-old spear was found lying on the surface by the keen-sighted Mr. W.H. Lori while the road to Lickeys was being extended in 1925. A tool made from scraped flint was found in an area adjacent to the Earl of Plymouths memorial. The artefact is displayed in Birminghams Museum & Art Gallery.

The Romans constructed the road across Lickeys, which is quite close to the current Rose Hill Gap, then turned northwards, passing Rednal, to take in the path of todays Bristol Road South. The road was allegedly used to carry salt and other goods between the Roman camps at Worcester and Metchley, not far from where Birminghams Queen Elizabeth Hospital is today. It would have also been used by Roman soldiers as a route for marching into battle.

In 1963, Roman coins were found outside the school at Rednal Hill, found by a Janet and Steven Harris. The coin was a dupondius struck in the reign of the emperor Antoninus Pius, who ruled Rome and England from 138-161. The small coin was struck in brass, and it would have been worth around the price of a loaf of bread.
