Old Oscott (originally Austcot) is an area in the Great Barr, Birmingham, England (formerly within Handsworth Parish, Staffordshire). The outskirts form a triangle, bordered on the north by Peasey, on the west by the Perry Beeches, and on the east by Kingstanding. The Birmingham city council district covering the area is known simply as Oscott. The district has been known locally as “Old” Oscott ever since Saint Marys College, the Roman Catholic seminary, moved to a new location in an area which became known as New Oscott. The area was developed mostly between 1920 and 1960, with a mixture of private and council housing.
