Oadby is a town in the Borough of Oadby and Wigston, Leicestershire, England. Oadby is the district centre, located 3.5 miles (5.6 km) south-east of the city centre in Leicester, along the A6 trunk road. Leicester Racecourse is situated on the boundary of Oadby and Stoneygate. The Botanical Gardens at Leicester University are located in Oadby. Oadby had a population of 23,849 in 2011, and, like neighbouring Wigston, Oadby is made up of five wards.

The Oadby and Wigston constituencies are twinned by the French region of Maromme, as well as by Norderstedt, in Germany. Oadby remained a small settlement until the late nineteenth century, when it became a fashionable suburban town for Leicester merchants, such as factory owners for the Leicester Shoemakers and Stocks.

Many large houses were built at Oadby, some now used by the University of Leicester. Stoughton Road, in Oadby, contains 2 sets of houses that are historically significant. Some, of the Frame Knitters Houses, date from 1909, whilst the North Memorial Houses, funded by Sir Jonathan North (a former mayor of Leicester), were built in 1927, with the Prince of Wales opening in the same year. In addition to a number of homes, the site of the North Memorial Homes is home to the North Memorial Hall, built in the Georgian Revival style, and has been leased by Oadby Evangelical Free Church since 1974. The enlargement of Oadby took place quickly during the 20th century, and is still continuing as of 2017.
