North Kilworth is a village and civic parish in Harborough District, south of Leicestershire, England, just north of South Kilworth. The civil parish had a population of 597 people at the 2011 census. At the time of the Domesday Survey (1086), two settlements, Chivelesworde and Cleveliorde, were in existence, both belonging to the borough of Stanford-on-Avon, which was on the other side of the boundary to Northamptonshire; these were given to the Earl of Northumberland, Guy de Raynbudcurt, who was then the founding Abbot of Selby, Yorkshire, which was then divided into North and South Kilworth.

In-iorde may readily be recognized as yards, while a form of the same suffix, either -worde or -worth, may be recognized as gharths, and both words signify enclosed enclosures, both belonging to the cairns, both words indicating enclosed enclosures enclosed in a hedge, each belonging to a ceofel.

The location of “the old hall” is noted north-west of the church, enclosed by moats of eighteen feet in width by three feet depth, and further earthworks. The moat was recently dug out to provide an area for wildlife to refill water. The village is located at the edge of a large natural aquifer, causing a great many springs to appear in and around the area. The recent withdrawal of Severn Trent Waters extraction (for use in the neighbouring township of Market Harborough) has led to the rise in the local water table.

North Kilworth has no shops, though one service station provides essential services. There is also a Post Office. An all-weather tennis court area is located across from the school, along with an extensive area for soccer.
