Newtown Linford is a linear village in Leicestershire, England.

The civil parish had 1,000 inhabitants at the 2001 census, including Ulverscroft, and increased to 1,103 in the 2011 census.

It is situated in the Vale in the Forest of Charnwood, with four access roads. The first is from Anstey, and then roads leading up to the A50 at Groby and Markfield (the former passing by the Groby pools). There is another road that leads north, splitting off to Ulverscroft, or Loughborough, Woodhouse, Woodhouse Eaves, Swithland, etc.

The village name is due to people moving away as the Ferrers of Groby turned Bradgate into a deer park. People living on the estate were moved into “the new town” — or the village, as it was called back then — on the Linn River Ford (once located at the intersection of Markfield Lane and Main Street). The village was first recorded in 1293, previously known as “Lyndynford”. The inhabitants of the village were all tenants of the Ferrers, then of the Grays.

The village is known for Bradgate Park, a great public garden that was home for nine days of Lady Jane Grey, the queen. Bradgate Park is a popular place to visit for an afternoon in Leicestershire, it is home to a number of herds of deer, children are frequently seen paddling on the small River Lin that runs through it. There are some shops (mostly catering for day-trippers visiting Bradgate Park), but the garden centre that once dominated the centre of the village closed in 2004, having been built over by houses. All of the properties in the village were owned by Greys estate until 1925, when they were sold.
