Human activity in Morden dates back to the Iron Age period when Celtic tribes are known to have occupied areas around Wimbledon, but the first significant development in Morden was the construction of the Roman road called Stane Street from Chichester to London.Morden is within The London Borough of Merton and is a district and town in South London, England, it is around 8 miles south-southwest of Charing Cross. Morden is in the ceremonial county of Surrey and has been part of Greater London since 1965. Morden is an excellent town for schools and is known for their lovely parks – this includes Morden Hall Park.

In London, the average pass rate is 40.8% and overall in the UK, the average test pass rate is 45.9%. London has busy roads, which means more traffic and complex junctions, with Morden is more in line with the rest of the country than most London Test Centers – the average pass rate is around 46%.

2015-16 2016-17 2017-18 2018-19 2019-20
46.8% 46.4% 45.4% 47.9% 48.9%

This seems like good news for some people, but always bare in mind that your performance is the only thing that matters, not pass rates

The modern driving test center is located on the first floor above some shops on Tudor Road. There is no car park at the center and parking in the area can be a problem. When going for your test appointment, it is advisable to turn up early so that you have time to find parking.

Mini roundabouts
There are several mini-roundabouts of the Morden driving test route. They often replace T-junctions in quieter residential areas to ease the flow of traffic. The rules at mini-roundabouts are the same as normal roundabouts. However, bear in mind that you would not need the “exit” signal when leaving the roundabout to follow the road, and you would not need the exit signal when turning right. Furthermore, it needs to be mentioned that although you need only give way to traffic on the right and have priority over traffic on the left, priority must be given and not taken.

Bus Lanes
Many drivers avoid driving in bus lanes so that they do not get a ticket. However, some of the bus lanes in the area are marked with timings. It is only during these times a car driver must not enter the bus lane; it is when the bus lane is in force. During your practical test, the examiner will expect you to use the bus if it is out of operational hours.

ONE WAY ROADS
There are a few one-way roads on the Morden driving test route. Many learner drivers have been known to fail at Morden because they were not aware that they were on a one-way system. Therefore watching road signs and road marking are vital in order to pass your driving test at Morden. At the entrance to a one-way road, there will be a blue rectangular sign with a white arrow. Please note that this is different from a head-only sign which is a blue circle with an arrow.
