Holbrook is a village in Derbyshire, on the south side of the Pennines, about five miles north of Derby, England. The civil parish had a population of 1,538 as of the 2011 census. Holbrook is approximately two miles to the north-east of Duffield, of which the parish is part, and is part of the borough of Duffield Fyth.

When the latter was captured by King Henry III following Robert de Ferrers, the sixth Earl of Derbys revolt, it seems that it was spared. However, it became property of Edmund Crouchback, together with the rest of the Flew. It was sold to the Crown in the time of Charles I by the Crown to a variety of local copyholders.

It included a principal mansion called Cocksbench, or Cocksbench Hall. Coxbench, a small village immediately southward, is supposed to be “Herdebi” mentioned in the Domesday survey, held by Henry de Ferrers; while an adjacent portion of Horsley Manor is supposed to be “Herdebi” held by Ralph de Bourne.

In 1863, Holbrooke (or Holbrooke) was created a parish distinct from that of Duffield. St. Michaels church, Holbrook, is a simple, stone-built structure built in 1761 by the Rev. It was rebuilt and extended in 1841 by William Evans, a Member of Parliament. It was formerly served by Coxbench railway station, which was located on the Ripley branch of the Midland Railway.
