Foxton is a village and civic parish in Harborough ward, Leicestershire, England, north-west of Market Harborough. The village is located on the Grand Union Canal, a short distance from where Foxton Locks and Foxton Inclination are located. Swingbridge Street still has an operating swing bridge which allows people and vehicles to cross over the canal, and which can be opened for canal boats to pass. There are two public houses, a village hall, and a primary school in the village.

Foxton is served by Market Harborough railway station, about three miles away. London and Birmingham are both within about 50 minutes on the train.

The village was formerly known as Foxstone and Foxtone. Foxton was originally a settlement on a hill, thought to have been founded during Saxon times, in the fasces of landscape.

The village slowly moved downstream into the valley side, becoming a farming community, working in an open, three-field system, until 1770 when it was enclosed. Foxton remained largely unaltered between Norman times and late in the 18th century, when the Canal arrived from Leicester, cutting the village. Agriculture began to decline, as improved communications and alternative employment opportunities meant that people left the village for jobs and the arrival of commerce and industry through the canal. In 1935, a small area to the south-east of Foxton was transferred to Harborough, while some Harborough was transferred to Foxton.
