Well, we are going to take a look at the pros and cons of taking an intensive driving course as opposed to a more traditional weekly lessons approach. If you are on two minds regarding taking a crash course, then – after reading this – hopefully – you have a better understanding on this topic that allows you to make the correct choice for yourself as an individual. You will be learning at a tremendously quick pace (most intensive driving courses are seven to ten days long). You will not forget anything that you learned from previous Crash Course lessons, because that information will be taught very recently.

You can get through it in just a couple of hours. You could potentially save money, since there are less classes. Along with the fact that some driving schools will discount your intensive driving lessons, since you are buying them in bulk.

Driving crash courses are going to have higher passing rates. According to uDrive, the pass rate for second-time drivers — when taught via Intensive Driver Training — is a mind-boggling 88%. The nationwide average is 47% according to DVSA.

Towns you may comes across during your Intensive Driving Course in Reading –

Aldermaston

This town is half-way between Reading and Newbury, it can be reached by turning south off of the A4, when the railway station and wharf are almost immediately seen. After you cross the Kennet and Avon Canal, the road then runs for 1 and half miles and the village is approached across the Iron Bridge which spans the river Kennet.

Aldworth

Aldworth is a small village which is on the edge of the Downs, at the top of the two steep hills which are Apple Pie Hill (this leads up from Compton), and Streatley Hill (this leads on down to the Thames). Aldoworth is situated 10 miles northwest of Reading.

Arborfield

This is the most widely known village of Berkshire – this is mainly thanks to the thousands of servicemen who have passed through ‘The Garrison’. A major part of the camp lies in the neighbouring village of Barkham.

Ashampstead

Back in the 13th and 14th century, Ashampstead was known as Esshamstede. Ashampstead is situated on a hilly ground in well-wooded country which is 9 miles from Newbury and 10 miles from Reading. For a number of years, the regular bus service has been stopped throughout the village but there is a social bus which takes passengers from Ashampstead and neighbouring villages to Reading and home again on Friday afternoons.

Barkham

Barkham dates back to 951 AD; this was when a Saxon thane gave Bloreham to the monks of Abingdon Abbey. Barkham is situated three miles near Wokingham at the edge of Windsor Great Forest.

Basildon

Basildon is about 8 miles northwest of Reading and is situated in wooded rolling country above Thames Valley. The village today consists of about five hundred houses, some old and many relatively new. It is beautiful and well-cared-for, sophisticated rather than rural, charming to look at and a pleasant place to live in or to visit.

Baughurst

This town is situated on the north Hampshire/Berkshire border in the middle of the Newbury/Basingstoke/Reading triangle. The Baughurst road is about four miles in length and the village can boast four public houses, a post office and a parade of shops.

Beech Hill

Beech Hill was formerly known as Beche Hill; this was after the Beche family discovered history, due to a fire that destroyed most of the records prior to 1860. The population of this area is around 400.

Beenham Valence

The village of Beenham is on the crest of a hill about 350 ft above the Kennet and it is also situated between Reading and Newbury. There are many older parts of the village and they date back from the 17th century. The older part of the village is found around the Six Bells an inn taking its name from the bells of the Parish Church, although there are several much older dwelling places, notably White Cottage, whose barn is of ‘crock’ construction dated 1500 or earlier, and other farms and cottages built in the 16th century.

Bradfield

This town is six miles west of Reading. The original village which was known as Broad Field, with church mill and monrial Bradfield Place, stands around the Pang chal stream and it is noted for its Blue Pool which is a mile or so up the stream. This is where springs keep the sandy bottom fuming with miniature volcanoes, while a trick of light in the transparent depths produces intense blue.
