On the day of the exam, you must arrive at Ashford Test Centre 10 minutes early so that you are not stressed. The tester will take about a minute to fill in his feedback sheet and will detail all the test errors you may have detected. If you pass the test, you will be issued with a pass certificate which will entitle you to drive immediately.  You will need a car in order to take your test. You will not be able to use the examiner’s car. If you hire a car for your driving test, it must be fitted with dual controls.

The Ashford driving test center is located between the main roads of Staines and Kingston, which form the northern and southern boundaries respectively. The area includes the Queen Mary Reservoir, which is covered by the river and named after the wives of George V and Mary Teck. Known as Ashford Marsh, the land was part of Kempton Manor during the reign of Elizabeth I, but was separated from it between 1066 and 1086. Since then, free fishing along the Brent and Thames rivers has also been under the domination of the estate, as has free fishing on the Brent.
